Music : Bijibal
Production : Arka Media Works

“Venkatesh Maha’s second film Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya is a remake of the Malayalam film Maheshinte Prathikaaram. Anyone who has seen the orginal will not taken aback by the simplicity of the story penned by Shyam Pushkaran, the humour found in life’s daily occurences and ofcourse, just how lovable Mahesh’s character truly is. In fact, this might just be the sweetest tale of revenge you’ll ever see.

Coming to the story, Mahesh(Satyadev) is a happily going photographer who doesn’t like getting into fights. On the other hand, his girlfriend Swati (Hari Chandana) leaves him for better choice and marries someone else. During this time, Mahesh gets involved in petty fight and gets trashed big time by Jogi. He is ashamed, insulted in front of his hometown people. Furious with his incident, Mahesh makes a decision that he will at any cost take revenge on Jogi. But in this process, he falls in love with Jogi’s sister Jyothi(Roopa Koduvayur). The rest of the story is how Mahesh takes revenge and also suceeds in love.

Right from the first scene, the film belongs to Satyadev. He has given his career best performance in this film. Be it in venerability, in the character, expressions in emotional scenes, Satyadev is top-notch and shows a lot of maturity. The young actor, Suhas does a superb job in the film. His comedy timing, character-based transformation, Suhas looks like a solid actor. Heroine Roopa Kadavayur is pretty good and impresses in later part of the film. TNR does well in his small role. Senior actor Naresh is amazing as Babji and Malayalam actor Raghavan as his father brings a lot of depth to the film.

The first hour of the film is superb with natural perfotmances, romance, light-hearted comedy and amazing conflict points. But once the second half starts, one may experience little-bit lag.

The locations are superb and special mention to the awesome camera work which showcases the film in natural light. Music and BGM are decently made by Bijibal. And coming to director Venkatesh Maha, he has done a fantabulous job. On the whole Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya is an earthy village drama that has some amazing performances. “
